The intensity of the course curriculum is designed to help forge a clear sense of the role of the professional mediator as distinguished from an attorney, judge, counselor, therapist or other professional. The courses will include:
- Demonstration of the mediation process
- Videotape presentations
- Lecture and discussion
- Extensive participant simulation exercises with faculty feedback
- Informal individual consultations during the course
- Extensive course materials which include all forms necessary for practice and outlines of the mediation process and detailed checklists of the issues to be addressed in most cases
- Post-course consultation, support and advanced training
